Love to see more slub options available on the site, but quality is so-so

Bought specifically for the self-bound collar. Collar turned out to be thinner than expected. It shrunk and became thinner yet after washing/drying on low heat. Fit was nice before washing/drying (sort of boxy/flowy without being sloppy). After washing/drying, shirt lost some length. Not quite unwearably short, but expect shrinkage and order up. I’m 5’11, 130lbs. I ordered a Medium. Material and color are great (other than flimsy collar). Nice slub texture/look/weight.
Inconsistent style, fit, and quality

Every time I buy a Hanes shirt, I get something different. In the past, some have been on a par with the best brands. Other times, they fit badly, have silly material choices (like using white interface material on the pockets of black shirts) Some have been ring-spun cotton, and some have been crude fabric that looks old even when it's new. Some fit great, others are too short. Sometimes the necks last a long time and other times they stretch out and curl up. Some are tagless, some have tags that can't be removed, and others yet have tags that are nasty long, but are easily ripped out (but then there's the extra time and hassle of holding the shirt up by the shoulder seams in order to figure out which way to put it on). Some have strong, heavy, almost luxurious fabric, others are too sheer for my taste. Last time I ordered several shirts, all the same style (but different colors) and no two of them were alike. If you read a review and it's good, then they person got lucky. All I can think to suggest is to buy a lot of them and then send back the ones you don't like. If enough people do this, then perhaps Hanes will eventually be inspired to do a better job of sorting and standardization. Maybe someone wants light fabric - fine advertise it as such. Others want heavier fabric - call out the weight and then ship what you call out. Call out tagless, tags, or removable tags (leaving no tags). Sell short shirts as short. You get the idea - say what you do then do what you say!

When the shirt arrived, we were surprised that the fabric seemed very stuff. I would compare it to the weight of a canvas or tote bag- like fabric. I thought maybe starches were used in production, so i took some steps to attempt to soften the fabric. It did not help. This shirt will likely never be worn. I am disappointed with this product and will likely not order for personal reasons again.
Different colors = different sizes/shapes

Ordered 3 shirts. 2 gray, 1 black. All 100% cotton (not any of the colors that is a blend). All XL size. The gray ones fit great. The black one has a boxier cut with shorter torso that shrank even shorter in the wash. If they were all the same cut, they’d be perfect. Fabric is nice and straightforward.
