About 20km east of Bali, Indonesia’s leading resort location, lies another island. This is Lombok, Indonesia’s fifth largest island. Among travelers who enjoy outdoor trips, Lombok is already well-known through word-of-mouth for its beautiful beaches and outdoor activities such as scuba diving and rafting. As it is still relatively underdeveloped, it also satisfies travelers who want to enjoy quieter and more secluded holidays. It became more widely known in Korea when it appeared as the filming location of tvN’sYoun’s Kitchen in 2017. Gili Trawangan Beach, which featured the show’s main set, became a must-see for Korean travelers visiting the island.



What’s more, Lombok is emerging as a new destination for recreation in Indonesia because of its many beautiful and distinctive beaches. Pink Beach, one of the few pink-colored shores in the world, is a unique resort in Lombok. Located on the east coast, its stretches of pink sand are created by crushed red corals that mix with sand. While Pink Beach is a great place to swim, sunbathe, and surf like any other beach, it’s a must for travelers who want to take great photos. Take a guided tour around Lombok’s southeastern region with a motorbike ride to Pink Beach, and you will arrive at a spot with a spectacular backdrop for stunning travel photos.

Lombok also offers a special snorkeling tour. Gili Islands consists of three islands: Gili Trawangan(the filming location of Youn’s Kitchen), Gili Meno and Gili Air. All three are popular snorkeling spots with abundant tropical fish. On Gili Meno Island in particular, you can take a special underwater selfie with an undersea statue created by world-class artist Jason Taylor.



The best time to travel to Lombok is the dry season (April to September), when there is less rain and fewer crowds, allowing you to enjoy a quiet and relaxing break. On the other hand, while the rainy season (October to March) is very hot and humid, Lombok’s waterfall, of its the key tourist destinations, is the most beautiful at this time of the year and attracts many travelers.
