The Mayor of Tbilisi visited Tskneti-Samadlo and Tskneti-Akhaldaba road rehabilitation sites

The Mayor of Tbilisi Mr. Kakha Kaladze and Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia Mr. Zurab Alavidze visited Tskneti-Samadlo and Tskneti-Akhaldaba road rehabilitation sites. According to the Mayor, aforementioned road is strategically important segment. It was damaged during the disaster of 13th June 2015.

“As you know, Tskneti-Betania connecting road was damaged during 13th of June disaster. Currently, MRDI is facilitating ongoing work. The road will be fully reconstructed and modernized. The rehabilitation works will conclude in the spring of 2018” – stated Mr. Kaladze and thanked the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia for its efforts.

Mr. Alavidze highlighted unique engineering decisions, which were made during Tskneti-Betania road construction.   

“Geological Institute of Munich and highly qualified specialist were involved in this process. Solutions used during construction were first in Georgia. The road will be fully reconstructed for the spring” – stated Minister of Regional Development and Infrastructure of Georgia.

The Municipal Development Fund is implementing Tskneti-Samadlo and Tskneti-Akhaldaba rehabilitation works. Prior to this initiative, local population was facing huge problems while commuting on this road.

Tskneti-Samadlo and Tskneti-Akhaldaba road is intricate section, which connects Tsalka, Gardabani and Tetritskaro Municipalities. The project value amounts to 25 million GEL. Length of the road is almost 1 kilometer.

“Caucasus Road Project” is the tender winning company implementing the rehabilitation. The works began in the May of this year and will conclude in the spring of 2018.
