Large-scale road works are underway in Tskneti settlement

Large-scale road works are underway on number of streets in Tskneti settlement (Sairme, Amilakhvari, Abkhazia, Cholokashvili and Grishashvili Streets). Local Administrative Unit of Vake District and Tbilisi Municipal Amenities Department implement the works.

The Mayor of Tbilisi Mr. David Narmania visited the site along with his Deputy Mr. Giga Nikoleishvili, Head of Vake District Mr. Nodar Turdzeladze and Head of Municipal Amenities Department Mr. Givi Kublashvili. During the meeting with local residents, the Mayor discussed planned activities in the area.

According to Mr. Narmania, large-scale road works are underway in Tskneti, where road surfaces will be replaced on number of streets in the scope of this project.

“The road works are underway on number of streets in Tskneti. The works on central road are implemented by Tbilisi Municipal Amenities Department. Local Administrative Unit of Vake District contracted private companies for rehabilitation of inner streets. Overall, this is a large-scale initiative. During last 3 years, we completed more road works in this area then ever before. Subsequently, commute is more comfortable for drivers and public” – stated Mr. David Narmania.

Planned activities in the scope of the project:

  • Replacement of 4217 sq. meters of road surface at Cholokashvili and Sairme Streets;
  • Replacement of 10 211 sq. meters of road and pavement surfaces at Grishashvili Street;
  • Renewal of underground communications;
  • Replacement of 5202 sq. meters of double-layered road surface at Abkhazia Street;
  • Replacement of 5742 sq. meters of double-layered road surface at Amilakhvari Street.
  • Basalt will be used for curbstones.

Abkhazia Street extensions – Gagra Street (from Abkhazia Street till Guramishvili Street) and Grigol Abashidze Street (from Abkhazia Street till Guramishvili Street) will be fully rehabilitated.

Tbilisi Municipal Amenities Department and Local Administrative Unit of Vake District contracted “Millennium Builders” Group and “Black Sea” Group to implement aforementioned rehabilitation works.
